Town's Former Players to meet at Poolfoot Farm this Thursday

Fleetwood Town's Former Players Association will be back at Poolfoot Farm this Thursday morning for their monthly get together and you can be there too.

Looking back at the last meeting, Town's Former Players were treated as George Ellarby dusted off his guitar and hit the high notes for his teammates. The musician made it into a quiz for those in attendance and played 'Guess the Song & Artist' by playing the introduction of classic songs throughout the 60s, 70s and 80s.

Kenny Moran - who has recently got himself into painting - brought in a selection of his artwork to show the group. After a year of learning skills in his own time, Town's Former Player wowed the room with his framed artwork and looking ahead, Kenny will be looking to bring in more into the building at this month's meeting.

On Thursday, there will be a special guest in the building. Alex Stepney - who got one cap for England back in 1968 in a friendly match against Swedeen - will be attending with Stuart Murdoch and the rest of the FPA looking forward to welcoming him to the meeting and talking about his distinguished career.

From playing for Millwall, Chelsea and Manchester United, the goalkeeper had a great career which also spanned into the USA with a spell at Dallas Tornado.

With this meeting to be held on Thursday 7 March 2024 from 10am until 12pm, the doors will be open for new members to get a taste of what happens during the monthly meetings, as well as to catch up with former teammates and friends from times gone by - it's one you won't want to miss.
