Fleetwood Town Community Trust have been commissioned funding through Spring North on behalf of the ICB to deliver adult health and wellbeing activity across Wyre, launching their latest initiative, 'Tackle It'.

The purpose of the project is to engage with adults in Wyre who may suffer from negative mental health and through a range of activities help to create a sense of belonging, highlighting the positive impact towards residents’ mental wellbeing.

The programme will also collaborate closely with Fylde Coast based charity, Counselling in the Community, offering professional support through their team of exceptional counsellors open to assessment and access to a range of centers.

Community Trust Health & Wellbeing Manager, Sarah Hall explained the initiative and said: “The ‘Tackle It’ project will be a great addition to our Adult Health and Wellbeing provision here at Fleetwood Town Community Trust.

"We’ll be offering a variety of sessions including physical exercise and sports, socials, wellbeing sessions and one to ones, aimed towards people who may be struggling with their mental wellbeing and feeling socially isolated.

"Our aim is to create supportive environments, where people going through similar struggles can find advice, support and become a valued member of a community group.”

Stuart Hutton-Brown of Counselling in the Community added: “I’m so excited about the collaboration between FTCT and CITC, this project is something that can benefit so many young people from the communities we serve.

"It’s great to be working alongside John and his team, Physical and mental health are as important as each other when working towards a resilient young society.”

Further details relating to the programme will be shared in the coming weeks."
