Fleetwood Town's Development Squad narrowly lost out 3-2 to Millwall on Thursday afternoon down at Highbury in the Professional Development League.

It was the perfect start to the game at Highbury Stadium, as Harry Wright-Ocana put Town one goal ahead within the first ten minutes of the game.

After a long diagonal ball from left to right, the young full-back latched onto the cross, he took the ball around the Millwall defender and slotted the ball past the on-rushing keeper to make it 1-0.

Nathan Pond's side looked in control midway through the game. The team in red and white were knocking the ball around well, making the visitors work even harder to win the ball back.

Millwall did grab an equaliser out of nowhere just before the break, meaning it was all level at half-time.

Into the second 45 minutes, neither side made changes, but it was the Lions who started the better of the two sides. From a wide free-kick, they had claims for a penalty after the ball striking a Town hand, but it looked too close for the defender to move away.

Millwall did take the lead after a dominating spell. It was a really well worked goal, with a flick over the defense and a calm finish past the trialist goalkeeper.

Oven Devonport levelled soon after to make it 2-2. Sam Glenfield broke the lines from the heart of midfield and with the ball out wide, the ball eventually found January's recruit to slot the ball home from close range.

With twenty minutes left in the game, both managers made changes to see if their substitutes could be the difference in the match - Under-18s midfielder Crispin McClean came on for Town, and looked lively in the attacking role in the side.

In the end, it was a penalty kick that decided the match. Millwall were given a spot-kick after a mistake from the keeper, and the forward stepped up and despite the keeper going the right way, he saw the ball nestle into the netting to give the visitors all three points.

Town XI: Trialist (GK), Wright-Ocana, Armstrong, Hughes, Potter, Hoyle, Morrison, Glenfield (C), Devonport, Brown (McClean, 64'), Trialist.

Subs not used: Boyes (GK), Cirino, Edwards, Roberts.
