'Now that the dust has settled a bit, my
final 'thoughts' of this season have to be for the
players. Tracking Witton for so long, keeping the faith in their own abilities, and then pouncing in
the last week of the season to take the title is a fantastic
achievement. I'm very proud of them. They are a great
bunch of lads and they will never
have another season quite like that!'

Phil Robinson finally laid his hands on the UniBond
Premier trophy today when he visited main club sponsor
Chris Allen Garages in Fleetwood.

"I've been looking forward to this moment all week,"
said the injured central defender. "It makes all the
hard work this season worth it. That also means the hard
work and effort the supporters have put into making the
season a success. My arm is still painful and troubles
me at night. I won't let it get me down, though. I'm
starting to think about when I can start some running
and maintaining my fitness."

Victoria Hospital this morning following an operation to
repair is fractured right arm. Speaking on Tuesday
lunch-time, Phil said "I'm hoping to be discharged later
today. I've had pins inserted into my arm and have a
follow-up appointment next week. The doctors told me
I'm likely to be laid-up for 10 weeks. I'm managing to
keep spirits up thanks to all the good wishes I've
received from lot's of people. I'm grateful for the
concern people are showing. One lady who works at the
hospital dropped by to see me yesterday. Her son plays
for the Fleetwood Town U9s and she told me they are
arranging a card. I just hope I'm better next
week as my girlfriend, Hanna, and me are due to fly to

This season
the Premier League Champions, that's us, are required to
play for the Peter Swales Memorial Shield against the
Division One Champions, Bradford Park Avenue.
The game is
scheduled for next Saturday, at Highbury, kicking off at
3:00pm. Party anyone?

Fleetwood Town 1 Frickley Athletic 1:
27/04/08

Ouch! How's
your head?
For those
who can't remember, the tension before yesterday's
sedate draw was lifted as news came through that Witton
had conceded three first half goals. Andy Bell went
closest to adding to Steve Foster's first half opener
when he headed against the bar in the the closing
minutes, but the party had already started by then. And
what a party, 2666 guests!
A final
thought for Phil Robinson who suffered a triple fracture
of his arm early in the game and missed the
celebrations. Get well soon Robbo - I expect the party
will still be going!
Team:
Danny Hurst, Shaun Beeley, Shaun Gray, Phil Robinson (Warren Beattie),
Ricky Mercer, Nathan Pond, Michael Brown, Jamie Milligan, Steve Foster
(Phil Denney), Andy Bell and Jerome Watt (Andy Moran).

help if you could get down to Highbury early. The
Clubhouse is open from 12:30 pm with Chelsea v Man U on

Admission is £7.00 for adults and £4.00 for juniors and
concessions and cash payment is at the turnstile, as

Fleetwood Town junior Catherine Robinson [R] unveils the

and I think the flags are great" said Catherine.

Town have ordered 200 flags to give away to young
supporters at this afternoon's UniBond Premier League
Championship decider with Frickley Athletic. "It's
another way to add colour to the big match occasion.
The lads are looking forward to the big turn-out this
afternoon to be their 12th man," commented Chief
Executive Steve Curwood. "I advise our supporters to
come along as early as possible" Steve added.

'OK, so it's a big
game. But we go into tomorrow's game on the back of six
straight wins and so my message to everyone is simple
and obvious - don't change a thing. If we are to get the
right result, we need to remain just as focused, stay
just as calm and be just as committed as we have been in
each of those games.'

'It's business as usual'
says Fleetwood Coach and Physio Steve Macauley.
'The
lads have been going through their usual routine this
week. We’ve achieved nothing yet.
As
far as injuries, I’ve treated Michael Brown with a
dead-leg and Alex Taylor for a bruised knee at the
Poulton Physiotherapy Clinic this week. I’ll need to
take another look at them on Saturday before kick-off'.

Matchday Plans:
24/04/08
18:30
So this is it! One
game to go and one win needed to be crowned UniBond
League Champions and to earn promotion into the Blue
Square Conference North for the first time in our club’s
history. Saturday’s big game at Highbury against
Frickley Athletic promises to be one which will live in
the memory for a long time – this will definitely be one
of those 'I was there' days!
We are expecting a
huge crowd on Saturday to roar on the team but there
will be plenty of room to accommodate everybody who
wants to come along. Payment is by cash at the
turnstiles and all I would ask is that supporters try to
get to the ground as early as possible as the turnstiles
will undoubtedly get very busy the closer we get to kick
off. As an additional incentive to get to the ground
early, we will be showing the Chelsea v Manchester
United game (probably the second biggest game of the day
behind ours!) in the Social Club. This game kicks off at
12.45.
Our match day staff
will be giving out specially commissioned Cod Army flags
to all the children coming into the ground and the
atmosphere should be absolutely electric. Let’s all make
Saturday’s game a truly memorable one and I’m sure that
the legendary Cod Army will cheer the players on to one
final win so we can start the celebrations!

Come On! Fill her up!
Two
Days and Counting.............
24/04/08
10:00
The tension is mounting ahead of
Saturday's big game as the ground staff and matchday
teams prepare for what will be a bumper crowd. You too
can spread the word by printing out and displaying our
Frickley Matchday Flyer. Download it
here.
To help ease any congestion at the
turnstiles, come down to the ground early as the Social Club
will be open from 12:30 pm with Chelsea v Man U live on
the big screen. And don't forget to raise a glass to
the Park End Stand and the Old Scratching Shed because this
may be your last chance to sample their joys before the
demolition men move in!

Leek
Town 1 Fleetwood Town 2:
23/04/08
07:00
Yes it's
true! With just four days of the season remaining,
Fleetwood Town are now top of the league!

But this was
such a hard game with Leek Town, desperate for points,
and an equally taxing pitch making life very difficult
for Fleetwood as they battled to take the vital three
points. In a night of heroes, Danny Hurst deserves a
special mention for his fearless goalkeeping, together
with Steve Foster and Warren Beattie for two cracking
goals.
Heroes: Danny
Hurst, Shaun Beeley, Shaun Gray, Phil Robinson, Ricky
Mercer, Nathan Pond, Michael Brown (Andy Moran), Jamie Milligan,
Steve Foster (Phil Denney), Andy Bell, Alex
Taylor (Warren Beattie).
