In partnership with the Football League Trust, Cabinet Office and Department for Education, The Community Trust is delivering The National Citizen Service (NCS), which is at the heart of the coalition Government’s vision for building a Big Society. NCS brings together 16 year olds from different backgrounds in a programme of challenge, service and learning, enabling them to develop the confidence, skills and attitudes they need to become more engaged with their communities and to become active and responsible citizens.
The programme is available to young people of all backgrounds. Giving young people the opportunity to mix with others from different backgrounds is a fundamental objective of the programme.
