Under 18 manager Mike Sumner desvribes the game. "Padiham came at us quickly in the first half and put us under pressure from the start. Nathan Thompson needed to be in good form in the Fleetwood goal and he saved us.

The half time message sunk in. I told the lads to close them down and they did that.  Our wingers came more into the game and we scored 10 minutes after the restart. Adam Sumner took a free-kick out to Grant Dell on the right. Grant put in a great cross for Joey Newsome to head home. We then had to defend for 20 minutes or so. They hit the crossbar but we kept hold of the lead.

It was our first competitive game of the season and we worked hard. "
