The opening friendly kicked off in glorious sunshine on an immaculate looking pitch in front of a crowd of 2318 fans. Following the opening of the Percy Ronson stand by his sons, Billy and Peter, honours were about even in a goalless first half.

The second half saw all of the big squads getting a 'run in the sun' and, as Blackpool began to dominate the game, they eventually turned their possession into goals, running out 3-0 winners.

Still, a good work out for the first day 'back at the office' with Fleetwood debuts for Alex Taylor, Steve Foster, Johnathan Smith, Liam Maloney and Slav Perz.
