Fleetwood Town TV ready for broadcast
4 March 2010

Fleetwood Town are set to trial a giant LED screen during the Blue Square North visit of Solihull Moors on Saturday 13th March. The club has enrolled the services of Preston-based ADI, who are world leaders in giant LED screens and include Chelsea FC and Aston Villa FC amongst their client list.

The match-day service, dubbed ‘FTTV’, will include video images of players, recent match footage, sponsor details and line-up for both teams.  The 25m 2 screen will be located on the east side of the ground close to the scoreboard.

Club chief executive Steve Curwood revealed the trial is aimed at installing a permanent screen at some stage next season.

“This is another exciting part of the redevelopment of Highbury Stadium. We already have an electronic scoreboard in place and a giant LED screen takes us to the next level both in terms of content for our supporters and opportunities for our sponsors to put their message across.”

“Ultimately, the content will not only be broadcast on the large screen but through out the ground including the hospitality facilities in the new east stand. The cost of the screen can be offset through sale of advertising space to match sponsors and relevant companies. These include pre-match and half-time advertisement slots through on-screen clips.”

Curwood said the content will be packaged into a match-day programme and displayed a number of times during the Solihull game and will include audio output in addition to video.

“The club are working closely with ADI on the production side and the imagery will be exciting, fresh and what you would expect from a market leader. We are also in touch with the Football Conference about showing live footage during games but, at this stage, that is something for the future.

“Fleetwood Town already provide a quality match-day experience for our supporters with our existing facilities. This is another step to further increase the appeal of football at Highbury Stadium.”
