Summary
Blyth Spartans 2-3 Fleetwood Town
Blue Square North
Saturday 17th April 2010
Att 523
Fleetwood Town continued their pressure on the Blue Square North top spot by maintaining their winning ways at Blyth Spartans. Maximum points came courtesy of an Adam Warlow brace and a well-taken strike by second half substitute Gareth Seddon.
It was a day when the league’s two top scorers, Warlow and Blyth’s Paul Brayson, went head-to-head and the Spartans striker wasn’t for being out done. He matched Warlow’s brace with a goal in either half, firstly taking the lead after just 9 minutes and then drawing his side level on the hour.
Warlow responded to the early Blyth goal with the equalizer on 16 minutes after crafting a long range strike from a half-chance. His second on 58 minutes was just as spectacular after good supply work by Nathan Pond.
Micky Mellon responded to Brayson putting his side back into the game by bringing on strike duo Nick Rogan and Seddon in place of Lee Thorpe and Jamie Mullan. Seddon needed less than 5 minutes to take hold of a good ball from Anthony Barry, race into the box and score the winner.
