Summary
Alfreton Town 1-4 Fleetwood Town
Blue Square North
Saturday 28th November 2009
Fleetwood Town continued their rich goal-scoring form following a comprehensive away victory over Alfreton Town and took over fourth place in the Blue Square North from their hosts.
Andy Todd’s strike put Alfreton in front on 30 minutes but his opener was brushed aside 2 minutes later when Steve McNulty converted a spot kick after Richard Pell fouled Steven Connors. Sean Clancy gave Town a halftime lead and second half substitute Gareth Seddon stole the show when he struck twice.
Fleetwood were already cruising to victory when Alfreton were forced to play out the last 12 minutes or so with only nine men. First, Aiden Flint saw red and the withdrawal of skipper Pell reduced the home side again. Alfreton boss Nicky Laws could only muster two substitutes for the game and they had already been used when Pell pulled up injured.
