FTFCSaturday Morning Club ON
4 December, 2009

Fleetwood Town’s Saturday Morning Club is back on this weekend after three weeks of postponement due to the recent heavy rain fall leaving the Memorial Park pitches waterlogged.

The sessions will be held on the tennis courts in the Memorial Park. Youngsters and parents should report to the clubhouse at the normal time. Tracksuit bottoms, trainers and shin pads must be worn.

Melissa Brown is the club’s community youth coach who runs the sessions.

“The weather has been against us recently and the kids just feel let down. They just want to play football or train. We were thinking of alternatives for the Saturday Morning Club and the tennis courts came up as one option. Using the hard surface means we will need to concentrate on the technical side of the game and not so much of getting stuck in a playing a true game. The children will need to weartracksuit bottoms to overcome any grazed knees.

“There are one or two spots which aren’t suitable for football, but we’ll cater for that and ensure safety is taken care of. We’re just lucky to have found somewhere. We need to have the children back playing football.

“The soccer skills session this Saturday (5th December) is free of charge to welcome the children back. It’s free to children already registered with us and new members always welcome. Registration is as normal in the clubhouse on the football ground.”
