Admission
prices 2008/09:
13/05/08
21:30
Fleetwood Town would like to
announce admission prices for the 2008/09 Blue Square
Conference North League campaign, with the
average costs for a league game with a full season ticket
being £7.61 for adults, £3.80 for Senior Citizens and £2.38
for under 16s**.
Supporters will be able to
save a significant proportion of regular match-day admission
by purchasing a full season ticket. These are available at
£160 for adults, £80 for seniors and just £50 for under 16s.
This represents a substantial saving against regular
turnstile pricing as adults and seniors enjoy five free
league games. Under 16s receive 11 free league games.
A season ticket
also provides free entry to both Fleetwood
and Blackpool reserve matches.
A book of ’10 game’
league tickets is also being introduced. The cost of the ’10
game’ book is £80 for adults, £40 for seniors and just £25
for under 16s. The average cost per game for adults will be
£8.00, for Seniors £4.00 and under 16’s £2.50, giving two
free games for adults and seniors, along with five free
games for under 16s. The ’10 game’ book also provides free
entry to both Fleetwood and Blackpool reserve matches. The
book of tickets can be bought at any stage of the season.
Highbury Stadium match day
admission will be £10 for adults, £5 for seniors and under
16s.

Steve Curwood:
"By announcing our admissions prices this early in the
close-season, the Club aim to provide our supporters plenty
of notice, and choice, of admission plans for 2008/09.
Combining promotion to the Conference North, the £1million
ground redevelopment this summer and anticipated
announcements on the playing front, I am sure the admission
plans will appeal to supporters across the board on what
promises to be an exciting new season.
The average cost per game for
an adult purchasing a full season ticket will be just £7.61,
which I believe offers excellent value for money for this
standard of football. This rewards not only our loyal and
existing fan base but I expect this will also bring some of
those supporters who witnessed the exciting climax to the
season back through the gates on a more permanent basis. The
average cost for Senior Citizens is £3.80, and children
under 16 is only £2.38 per game. The cost effectively
provides 5 free league matches for adults and seniors, and
an amazing 11 free league games for juniors. Fleetwood Town
Junior players and their management will once again enjoy
complimentary entry. In addition to first team home league
fixtures, free entry to Fleetwood Town Reserves games, and
new for this year, free entry to Blackpool Reserves will
also be guaranteed with a season ticket.
Another innovative
development, which local research indicates will be
extremely popular, is the introduction of a ’10 game’ book
of tickets, which can be bought at any stage of the season.
This, we hope, will appeal to shift workers and those who
cannot commit to an entire season, but would like to take
advantage of a ‘bulk ticket’ discount. Tickets can be used
for any league matches until the 10 tickets have been used.
The average cost per game for adults will be £8.00,
for seniors £4.00 and under 16’s £2.50, giving two
free league games for adults and seniors, and 5 for under
16s. This ticket will also provide free entry to both
Fleetwood and Blackpool reserve games.
Admission without a season
ticket on match day will be £10 for adults, £5 for seniors
and under 16s. Once again representing value for money and
below the anticipated average for clubs in our league next
season.
Entry to the new seated
stand, replacing the old scratching shed, will be by a £1
‘transfer’ payable at the entrance to the stand".
**Seniors will be aged over 60 on September 1st 2008, Under
16s will be under 16 on August 31st 2008.
Season tickets can now be
purchased online. You must complete an application form
here.

Fans' Forum Report:
07/04/08 09:00
Opening:
Andy Pilley
“A pleasing way to open the evening is seeing the community
aspect of the Club highlighted by the match next door on the
Memorial Park. The U13s girls team are entertaining
Wilpshire, who are from the Blackburn area. It’s great to
see the red and white Chris Allen shirts being used by the
younger members of the Club and right through to the first
team. The kit really brings everyone together and unites
us. Incidentally, the teams on park are using the nets
provide by a generous donation from the Doreen Lofthouse
Foundation. Constant communication is key to success in any
endeavour, so it is an aim to make the Fans Forum a regular
feature. It's good to see so many of you here. I think the
figure is around thirty, so that will provide a reasonable
cross-section. Redevelopment is a key off the field activity
and Steve Curwood will cover that topic. On the pitch, we
must maintain the good mid week performance at Buxton. Every
game is difficult for different reasons as opposition teams
have their own reasons why they need points. We are looking
for good results from the next two games to maintain
pressure on Witton Albion and make them nervous. A strong
vocal support from the Cod Army is essential.”
Stadium update:
Steve Curwood
“I’ve had a meeting today (Thursday) with the project
management company, Alpha. They provided assurances
everything is on track for opening of 2008/09 season. There
will, naturally, be some unpredicted snags and these will be
dealt with as necessary. Alpha will use local tradesmen were
appropriate. This does need balancing, however, against the
availability of experience, skills and the cost. Work is
imminent on clearing the rear of the ground opposite the
Percy Ronson stand. Steele and groundwork will commence
after the last game of the season. The concrete pitch
perimeter will also be taken down. This will be replaced
with 1km of a new style, an advertising board perimeter. The
plans for the new supporters bar have been reviewed a number
of times to ensure space is maximised and the drawings are
now back with the architects. The area will be
approximately 2-½ times the size of the current clubhouse.
The bar area will be bigger and is designed to reduce the
current half-time bottlenecks. The dugouts will be switched
to the other side of the pitch to accommodate the new
stand. The ground has just been awarded Grade C by the
UniBond league and this means we have been successful in
meeting the requirements to, at least, enter the play-offs
this season. This has entailed some minor work and a huge
effort by Billy Helsby, John Grundy and Dennis Walsh. The
next step is a visit from the Conference North officials”.
Supporters Club:
Andy Pilley
“The Club invites the formation a ‘Supporters Club’ to
promote better link between the board and the terraces.
Apart from providing a voice for the paying public, the new
body will organise things such as away travel. The Club
already subside away travel and this will be available in
future. The Clubhouse is available for the supporters to use
for their meetings. Officials from the Club will be
available to help set-up the new body and provide ongoing
advice. Please approach me with your ideas on this matter”.
Online:
Andy Pilley
“I’m grateful for the great work done be Ian Blezard on the
Club website. The unofficial forum is also a great source
of information and exchange for the supporters. Dave Roe
puts a great deal of time and effort into the site”.
Links with Blackpool FC:
Steve Curwood
“Fleetwood Town enjoy a good relationship with Blackpool
FC. Mutual support is provided to each other such as the
Blackpool Reserves playing their Pontin’s League matches at
Highbury. In return, Blackpool has kindly allowed Fleetwood
players the use of their physiotherapy team under Phil
Horner on an appointment basis. They have also agreed to
allow the use of their specialist pitch maintenance
equipment”.
Andy Pilley
“Other exciting links are currently in the planning stage
and we hope to announce these in due course. Simon Grayson
has again agreed to send a full strength squad for a
pre-season friendly, probably in mid-July. The building
work will, of course, be ongoing at that time. This will
lead to a reduction in capacity but shouldn’t affect
attendance too much. Plenty of notice will be provided to
supporters before all pre-season games.”
Fleetwood Town FC Press Office:
Derick Thomas
“The role of Press Officer means keeping the supporters, residents of the
Fylde Coast and the business community informed of latest
developments both on, and off, the pitch. This includes
issuing press releases and handling queries from local and
national media sources that are interested in obtaining
information about the Club. Indeed, the next press release
is scheduled tomorrow (Friday 4th April) to announce the
commercial sponsorship agreement between the Club and The
Loft Wine Bar and Night Club, which is above the British
Legion in Fleetwood. It also entails working with colleagues
form all parts of the Club including the Community Office,
junior and senior sides, as well as the Board, chief
executive and sponsors. It also means looking for
interesting stories, both on and off the pitch, to pass onto
the media. This will include Saturday’s visit of Lancashire
Fire and Rescue to the Saturday Morning Club and abseiling
at the nearby fire station by a number of the older junior
players. Other media events will surround the ground
redevelopment and how the changing face of Highbury Stadium
will be recorded for the Club Archive.”
Supporters View:
Stan
Leadbetter, former Mayor of Wyre Borough
“I’ve followed Fleetwood for the last 30 years and I’m
seeing the most radical changes at the moment. It’s not
just talk. Things are actually happening. The Fans Forum is
a good idea and provides an opportunity to know the latest
happenings at the club. I enjoyed the informal setting and
found it very useful. I’ll certainly be at the match on
Saturday and was pleased to see the recent Town coverage in
the Gazette.”
Pete
Burke, Blackpool resident
“Tonight has been a successful venture. Andy Pilley, on
behalf of the club, was very open and approachable. He
answered all the questions put to him. It’s interesting to
hear about the community work being done by the club through
it’s work with the youngsters. I’ve supported Fleetwood for
the last four years and the club is only going one way – and
that is up!”
More detailed minutes of the
meeting will be available later.....

Night Club in the town, we are proud to be associated with
Fleetwood Town. It is good to be associated with a club like
Fleetwood Town who are moving upwards and we look forward to
working together.
Steve Curwood: “Fleetwood Town wish CDK Leisure the
very best of luck with their new venture in the town and
thank them for supporting the Club. The Loft is well
positioned in the heart of the town and not too far away
from Highbury Stadium. Working with David and Chris in
future is an exciting prospect.”

In conjunction with our project management company, we
will be inviting tenders shortly for the individual
