Crowther comes to Highbury

New signing

Fleetwood Town have signed Ryan Crowther who Hyde United had released earlier on Friday. The midfielder had made 11 starts, with 5 goals, for the Blue Square Bet North highflyers.

The left-sided winger spent nine years playing youth football with Stockport County and made his full debut as 17-year-old at Edgerley Park.  He was then signed by Liverpool and played in the Premier League Reserve League.

Spells with Ashton United and Stalybridge Celtic came before the Manchester-based player joined Hyde United.

The last time Town dipped into the Blue Square Bet Premier North transfer market was to recruit prolific scorer Jamie Vardy who now occupies the right wing position at Highbury.

The player will be included in the squad to face Stockport County and has been allocated shirt number 39.

Supporters are reminded kick-off on Saturday is 17.45 due to live coverage by Premier Sports TV.   The Cod Army are also advised to purchase match tickets early as a bumper crowd is expected for the northwest derby.

Yeovil Town Fa Cup tickets are also available ahead of the Stockport game and in the weeks ahead.
